First frost...

Saturday morning was a surprise to us as we turned on the wipers to clear the water from the windshield...it was frost! Heart sunk as I didn't have a clue where my scraper was, instead I turned on the window cleaner spritzing a couple of times and it came right off. I'm not ready, I know cooler mornings are now around the corner. I do love Autumn, changing colors everywhere one looks driving across the prairie.

Pumpkins are displayed waiting for faces and seeds to be toasted, dogs howling at the moon. Okay, we have neighbor dogs that just howl, an eerie sound, but I do like it. Carlee howls, it was her only voice for some time when she came home to live with us. Sometimes she surprises us with a howl and I answer her back. Yes, she thinks we're odd too.

A gusty windy day today, Buster has been out dozing on the deck. It's time to get the day going on baking treats and human treats, today is my birthday. My treat is a pot of soup to slow cook all day and be ready for supper when we're done making dog treats. It's a great day!

Enjoy!

  1. Happy birthday, Barb! We had our first frost this a.m.--too soon for my taste, but the fall is beautiful!
