She has been eating out of several bowls of food and water that have been left out for her daily for the last many weeks. One neighbor and I had the same idea when we felt it was time for a live trap. Friends had one, we purchased smelly food to attract her and she was caught the first night. She was wet and unhappy, but kept in a dry garage away from the elements and predators. Most likely a good day to sleep. By day's end Cleo allowed petting from children and their Mom.
Calling the "parents" of the good news, they didn't have time to pick her up and offered her to the Humane Society. I was very unhappy and we took it upon ourselves to find her a home. Four friends filled my mind and it just goes to show her parents, Cleo has a new home. A big barn filled with hay, food and friends she'll warm up with as she relearns to trust. Cleo was welcomed into a farm family and picked up the same day, with her new home she can stay out of the cold and rain, sleep and chase the dog. As of this writing she's still a little skittish, maybe she looks for Felix. We're hoping the sun draws her out to the sounds of human voices that welcome her with a scratch behind her ears and a "Hello Cleo, welcome home!"
Enjoy your week!
