Buster L O V E S apples. A staple of his diet before he came to the cabin. He found one in the grocery bag yesterday and ran away like the wind. Crunch, crunch, crunch looking for another.
We went for our early morning walk, got caught up in some nasty sand burrs, we stopped and pulled out what we could so they could still walk back to the car. I offered to carry, but they wouldn't dream of it, what if another dog saw them?! Geesh! Walking around the building where Mom works, looking in windows, leaving 3 smudges, we headed back to the car and off to run errands. The car ride was no fun for them as burrs were being pulled from their fur. We don't have burrs in our yard, but we don't have grass like where we walk, it's coming.
Water was on the menu for our return and a treat, grabbing an apple, giving Buster the core, he gobbled and promptly went out. Upon inspection, he left 3 little seeds. Good boy! Apples have been placed out of reach, trimming required. Enough said.
It's a beautiful morning, meadowlarks are singing and oh my gosh it's already 10:15, no time for coffee on the deck, we have things to do...fortunately, outside.
Enjoy your day.
Back in Missouri, our neigbor's dog loved to pick apples, jumping up & down, up & down, trying to grab them off the tree. Every year she got her apple a day during the fall... until she killed the tree that is - she also liked to chew the bark off :(
