Few travelers take the back roads to see the land or small towns dotted along the way, they will miss the array of flowers and flags placed on or near headstones in cemetary's. For those of us that do take those roads and witness the beauty of the flowers and flags are reminded of the weekend and how it is indeed celebrated with programs and 21-gun salute's heard from afar. We traveled hours, as we do each year, placing flowers, meet with family, eat lunch and see friends we haven't seen in some time.
We'll retrieve our flowers again soon, the dogs will be happy for the ride, new sights, sounds and smells and maybe even nap on a warm pillow. Until then, travel out of the way in your Summer journey's, the prairie grass is tall, beautiful and waves gracefully.
Safe travels, take your dogs for a ride and enjoy your outings.
