Today we started the Farmer's Market for the 2011 Season. Hesitant with rising water, I almost asked my neighbor if I could borrow his canoe, sell treats from it and should the flood waters come, I would simply pull out the oars and flow down the street. The levee's are holding. Our traffic was slow, but it was a good day as I saw friends that had taken a break from moving/sandbagging and friends that stopped to visit. Met a new friend named Angus, he was found in a ditch near Hayes and friends adopted him several weeks ago. He's a beautiful pup, white and will grow and grow nearly as big as his brother Buddy, a Great Dane mix.
Our kids are growing to, our vet said, "feed less or 2x a day and walk more". You've heard the saying, "if your dog is fat, you're not getting enough exercise." Buster runs and runs and Carlee chases, she doesn't know why, but if Buster is doing it, she should too. Buster would rather be outside and Carlee doesn't care much for the new food and she's really the one that needs to drop a couple of pounds. We walk early mornings on weekends, with warmer weather coming, we'll just walk shorter distances.
Until then, I see drooping trees and flowers, time to water. Safe week to you friends!
Hi Barb...so wanted to be there at market this weekend, but I was unraveled. Stretched myself too thin this last week and needed a weekend to regroup. Better now and will hope that Farmers Market is up and running next week and the river has subsided!! WE HOPE!
