With the gusty winds we are unable to tell how much snow we receive but it seems we received quite a bit as we shoveled off the deck. The dogs enjoy the snow, with the nasty wind they are willing to go out and quickly come back inside.
Earlier this week as I threw Carlee's duck the wind carried it to the fence line, as she ran through the snow she simply disappeared. Having two white dogs in blustry snow, they both disappear. It was actually a drift that swallowed her, she quickly recovered, grabbed the duck and rushed for the door. Completely caught her off guard but the next time out she investigated and has been keeping her distance.
Buster saunters in the snow, investigates the yellow areas and repeats it. He makes us smile. We keep an eye on them before they begin to limp with rocks stuck to their pads or from the elements. Keep an eye on your friends, they trust us to know when it's time to come back inside.
Stay warm, keep your friends warm, love your dogs more.
