We did not venture onto the highway this morning, cars were having problems with traction and many taillights lit as they drove. Thankful today is Sunday. Buster wants out at first light, and before. He may have missed something during the night and was awake at 5:45am. Sending him back to bed for another 1/2 hour (it's the weekend), he managed to watch the clock flip numbers and tired after 15 minutes.
With the comfort of breakfast neatly tucked away, he goes out and we accidently nap in a cozy chair. I call for him and only Carlee turns to look at me, shoot, I left him outside. He looked frozen to the ground, he didn't move when I opened the door. "Buddy, are you okay?!" He turns his head to look up, wiggled his butt and shot up the stairs. It was only about a 1/2 hour, it was chilly but his coat is thick. His feet were cool, but he cuddled up on a blanket and sleeps soundly nearby.
The kitchen awaits baking, off we go, enjoy your day.

Business has gone to the dogs...
If you missed the Zonta Holiday Fair this weekend, you missed quite a show. Not only were there showings at the Ramkota but at the Pierre Mall. If you didn't find anything, you might not have been looking hard enough. Besides there were tons of samples and most everyone had a sucker sticking out of their mouth.
Again, we met some wonderful people, heard dog stories and new names like Pumpernickel, Jet, Toby May and Nevaio. Our business certainly has gone to the dogs and that's a good thing!
Standing on cement floors and sitting in upright chairs puts kinks in backs and feet. No matter how often you get up and walk, or pad the chair and even the most comfortable shoes just wasn't working by 1pm Sunday. Only 2 hours to go and the "kids" were tickled to see my face at the door after the Fair. Giddy with excitement, they knew there'd be treats! They get the samples that are left in the treat dishes at day's end.
Fed, pampered, hugged and business done, they lay close by dozing, one ear on alert in case we make a move. It's early to bed for us tonite, sleep well, safe travels and we'll see you at the Pierre Mall, Sunday December 5th. You can always call or email us your order, we deliver in city limits of Pierre/Fort Pierre and gladly ship to your dog.

Veteran's Day..America the Beautiful
My parents both came from large family's, from those, brothers joined various Armed Forces and were sent abroad to fight. Few stories were told of the horror's they saw, but boys always remembered their Mothers with trinkets. The World War's were tragic as war is today. A nephew just went back over and in daily prayers we hold him up, just as we thanked my uncles this morning.
Uncle's Frank and Rex were especially important in my life, they returned from war long ago, both played the accordian enjoying Oldtime music, playing dances and laughing. I miss them and think of them often.
On this note, keep your family and friends close in prayer and abroad for solder's safe returns. Veteran's Day, not a day that should go unnoticed, but everyday is fought.
We wish you safe travels and blessings.

Let me in...let me in!
Halloween many years ago Mom would take us kids and neighbor kids around on Halloween in the car. In a dark alley, she must've counted excited kids in the car and thought mine was one of them. As she began to drive away, I grabbed the door handle yelling, "Let me in, let me in!" It was only seconds before she realized but to me, it was forever.
We told the kids Sunday late afternoon as we continued to work in the last juice of daylight, we will now have quick dark nights but early morning light. As tools were gathered and carried into the house, I heard scratching on the door. Indeed, in a blink of an eye it had turned dark and I thought I heard the frantic, "Let me in, let me in!"
Dark isn't their favorite while outside, we stand post on the deck and welcome the extra hour. Enjoy your extra hour.
